Here’s a list of ten small things you can try doing or telling yourself when you’re feeling down.
#1. Start with realizing that your needs are as important and relevant just like anyone else’s. So think about what you want or need to do at this precise moment and go ahead. Cater to your own needs.
#2. You yourself are as important as anyone else, so don’t forget to put yourself first… at least sometimes. Important people in your life should understand that, too, and be totally ok and encouraging about you taking care of yourself.
#3. Spend some one-on-one time with yourself. Draw a nice bath. Put on some nice clothes. Go on a (reasonable) shopping tryst. Or, on the contrary, take a walk to the park, sit on a bench, read that book you’ve long wanted to. Enjoy a day off at the beach.
